1974 Volkswagen 412 Type-4 Wagon

This is a 1974 Volkswagen 412 Type-4 2dr Wagon. This is a significantly rare body style when compared to the other vehicles. It's fairly low optioned. It came with an automatic, and a dealer installed A/C system (although the system is missing about 90% of the components). The motor in this 412 is a Type-4 (similar to the one in my VW Bus. It's pretty quick for being an old-school VW.

- Cleaned it up, put it on eBay...

Well, the wife says no, so we're going to sell it. Here are some pictures for me to remember it by. This is a pretty rare body style and VW model. Not too many of these were made. Hopefully this car will go to a good home and that person will take care of it. Since it doesn't have a valid tag, I've parked it on the side of the house with the Fiero and the 1984 Porsche 944.

- Double checking everything...

I might be selling the car to my friend Trevor to give to his daughter. I'm double checking the entire car over to make sure that it's safe and won't break down. I'm testing out the interior lights, the parking lights, and the head lights. I noticed something strange... the headlights ONLY come on when the car is running. I thought that was kind of weird. I don't know if that's "stock" but it's not really an issue as you won't really need your headlights when the car isn't running anyway!

- Well... the car is sold.

It's kind of sad for me because I get emotionally attached to cars. But I was kind of bummed giving this car up. On the other hand though, I'm really happy that I now no longer have three cars on the side of the house. I got to drive it one last time by driving it back to Trevor's grandmother's house. His daughter Annie will see it when she gets home from work. She's named the car "Ditto".

- Update, car is sold again.

Annie now goes to school long distance in Aventura (?). Although this is a great weekend car, it simply won't be able to stand up to the pressures of having to be driven daily on I-95. With that, Trevor traded in the vehicle for a newer Mitsubishi 3000GT. The car needs body work, but otherwise drives fine. This will be the last update for this car.
